Resources Beyond The Courses

Math Recovery has new features in its website, and "ConnectMR" is now a place for Math Recovery teachers around the United States to connect through shared resources.
The "Math Recovery in Michigan" folder contains instructional resources available to AVMR teachers regardless of their membership status.

Resources provided below were produced by the Supporting Implementation of Math Recovery Professional Development project with funds awarded by the Michigan Department of Education through the Math/Science Partnership (MSP) competitive grant program (Title IIB).
Access to some of these resources requires obtaining permission from a Michigan Math Recovery Consultant upon completion of a Math Recovery professional learning course.

Grade Level Summaries

These K-2 documents summarize the "big ideas" of the state mathematics standards at each grade level. They also describe what students should be able to do at the beginning and end of the school year for each of the Math Recovery topics: Forward Number Word Sequence, Backward Number Word Sequence, Numeral Identification, Structuring, Addition and Subtraction, Place Value, and Multiplication and Division.

To receive copies of the grade level summaries, please contact your regional facilitator.

Progress Monitoring Tools

These tools may be used to monitor student progress in particular domains at specific Constructs and Levels. Each document provides key tasks to help teachers determine if a student has moved to the next Construct or Level.

To receive copies of the Progress Monitoring Tools, please contact your regional facilitator.

Family Math Night

Family Math Night provides a user guide to host a Family Math Night and an assortment of suggested games to play during the event. The games cover the Numbers and Operations domain in the Michigan Mathematics Standards for Kindergarten through 3rd grade. There is also a PowerPoint presentation to kick off the evening and a handout for parents.

To receive a Family Math Night user guide, please contact your regional facilitator.
